What the Bleep Do We Know!? is een nieuw soort film. Het bestaat gedeeltelijk uit interviews, een verhaallijn en gedetailleerde en inspirerende visuele effecten en animaties. De hoofdrolspeelster, Amanda, wordt gespeeld door Oscar winnares Marlee Matlin (Children of a Lesser God). Nadat haar dagelijkse, weinig inspirerende leven uit elkaar valt, komt ze in een wereld terecht die door wetenschappers wordt aangeduid als de kwantum fysica.

De film What the Bleep do we know!? heeft de wereld op zijn kop gezet. Miljoenen mensen verwelkomden het nieuwe wereldbeeld dat de filmmakers schetsten: een mengeling van wetenschap en spiritualiteit. De brug tussen materie en geest was eindelijk geslagen.

De veertien top wetenschappers en mystici in de film dienen als een hedendaags Grieks koor. De verschillende meningen benadrukken al de onderliggende gedachte van de film, namelijk dat alle dingen met elkaar verbonden zijn. Dit weerhoudt hem er echter niet van om met zijn vriend Truman en zijn aanvankelijk sceptische medestudente Carin vrolijke bezoekjes te brengen aan de patienten in het ziekenhuis. Maar Patch wil meer, veel meer: een eigen, onafhankelijk en vrij ziekenhuis waar patienten geen nummer zijn, maar echte mensen. Lachende echte mensen.
